10 tree planting myths


A lot of us do things in the garden just because we’ve always done it that way. Or Dad used to do it that way. Or the neighbor said that’s the way to do it.

Of course, that doesn't make it right. Research has proven that some accepted practices in the garden aren't actually effective and might even be harmful.

When it comes to planting trees, for instance, did you know applying a wound paint to a pruning cut can actually slow the wound closure?
