TERRE HAUTE — It’s Earth Day every day for TREES Inc. with another year full of programs.
Things kicked off a couple of weeks ago when Randy Beard, songwriter, educator and entertainer, went to Davis Park and Hoosier Prairie elementary schools for an Earth Day concert and classroom activities.
TREES Inc. members have been working with teachers from the two schools to offer special Earth Day lessons, activities and projects for the month-long program, according to a TREES Inc. news release.
Terre Haute is part of the Tree City USA program, so every year a different school is selected to have a ceremony and receive the official Arbor Day tree. Davis Park is that school this year.
