Planting trees for environmental beautification


With the inauguration of “Operation Green Lagos” by Governor Babatunde Fashola at the inception of his administration and Tuesday‘s commencement of tree planting campaign, the state government has expressed its determination to check the abuse of the environment. Already, the state government has begun an aggressive greening and beautification of open spaces, decrepit loops, verges and medians, as shown in several aesthetically appealing sights in various parts of the state.

The vegetation, which exemplified the state government‘s commitment to making the environment friendly, can be seen in Alausa, Ikeja, and its environs; old Lagos toll gate on the Ibadan Expressway, Oworonshoki interchange, Murtala Mohammed Airport, Ilupeju, Surulere, Mobolaji Bank-Anthony Way, Ijora Causeway, Simpson Street, Adeniji Adele interchange, Funso Williams Avenue, Lagos Marina Waterfront and Ikoyi.
