Youngsters help out with tree planting

RAINBOWS, brownies and guides from Trafford helped to plant 1,000 trees at their county campsite in Ashley.

Girls, leaders and their parents helped to plant the trees, which were donated by the Woodland Trust.

The event on Saturday October 11 marked the start of a unique project called ‘Changing the World’, which more than 600,000 members of girl guiding UK will take part in over the next year.

It also marked an important day for the Ashley Building Fund, which aims to raise enough money to build a new dry shelter on the campsite.

The fund received a welcome boost in the form of a £5,000 donation from the Oglesby Charitable Trust, presented by Michael Oglesby, the founder of the trust and Bruntwood Group.
